In the newest episode of ABC's Private Practice, Pete and Violet enter marriage counseling to help patch up their relationship; Amelia shuts down emotionally and avoids her peers upon hearing some devastating news; Addison adjusts to the new man in her life; and Charlotte and Cooper struggle with Mason when he refuses to speak to them.

My thoughts below in bulleted format - due to the lateness of the review.
- The reveal that Amelia's baby was developing without a brain was tragic and shocking. It was aggravating that they spent half the episode alluding to the baby before finally revealing it. I'm glad they didn't wait until the end but it felt almost too long teasing the audience.
- It has been a terrible year for Amelia but Caterina Scorsone's performance is one of the best things about this season.
- Addison looks radiant and right holding and taking care of a baby.
- Marriage counseling was a step in the right direction for Pete and Violet but Pete's closing statements were so on-the-nose of describing their relationship. They shouldn't go to that room again.
- Did Violet learn nothing have her probation. She's still using her personal stories as anecdotes for her patients and it's so aggravating!
- Speaking of which, the fact that the girl stabbed her sister was so painfully obvious from the first moment we saw them.
- I was hoping for a better explanation behind Sheldon going to see his ex-wife. His absence was definitely felt in the episode.
- It is so refreshing that Sam and Jake returned to being friends. This little spat over both kissing Addison is not something that should tear them up as bad as it did.
- Personally I sided with Charlotte on how to deal with Mason. This story has been fascinating all season long and wasn't as prominent in this episode but I'm intrigued to see where it goes next.
