Broadcast Rankings - NBC Holds Its Lead; 'America's Got Talent,' 'Maya & Marty' and 'MLB All-Star Game' are Top Shows

For the week of July 17 - July 23, 2016, NBC was the highest rated broadcast network with an average of 1.216 - followed by ABC (0.996), CBS (0.980), FOX (0.849) and The CW (0.315).

NBC's Maya & Marty was the highest rated scripted series with a 1.167, NBC's America's Got Talent was the highest rated unscripted series with a 2.364, and FOX's MLB All-Star Game was the highest rated sporting event with a 2.200.

The networks air numerous original programming during primetime throughout the week. This list is a compilation of all of an individual series' ratings in the Adults 18-49 demographic as reported on a Live+SD basis for the season. It's not the most accurate way to determine the total audience and the demographic for an individual series, but it is the statistic that is reported for all the series that air on the broadcast networks. Plus, it keeps the list in its totality on the same level of analysis. However, it's important to recognize that most networks won't base their renewal and cancellation decisions solely on the show's initial number. Now, it's becoming more popular that they'll look at how it performs in delayed viewing across the few days after broadcast.

Each show currently listed aired a new episode in the current week. A series will stay on the list an additional week if it didn't air during the current week. If it misses the next as well, it will be removed from the list. A red highlight is the identifier of a series that is at risk of being removed from the list in the following week. The number associated to the overall network is a compilation of all the season ratings of every series that aired on the network during the week.

The list currently includes programs from all five broadcast networks.
