Cinemax Sets Premiere Date for Miniseries 'C.B. Strike'

Cinemax has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original miniseries C.B. Strike.

The seven-episode miniseries will debut on Friday, June 1 at 10/9c.

The series is based on the crime novels written by Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Starring Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger, the story centers on Strike, a war veteran turned private detective, operating out of a tiny office in London's Denmark Street. Although wounded both physically and psychologically, his unique insight and his background as a military police investigator prove crucial in solving three complex cases that have baffled the police.

The show launches with three one-hour episodes based on the first book in the trilogy, The Cuckoo's Calling, followed by adaptation of the remaining two books, The Silkworm and Career of Evil, both of which will consist of two one-hour episodes.

Executive producers include J.K. Rowling, Ben Richards, Tom Edge, Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts. Cinemax, BBC and Bronte Film and Television produce.
