Brie Larson to Star in and Produce CIA Drama for Apple

Oscar winner Brie Larson - who stars in the current Marvel film Captain Marvel - has signed on to star in and produce an untitled CIA drama series which has landed at Apple with a straight-to-series order.

The drama is based on the real-life experiences of CIA undercover operative Amaryllis Fox and her upcoming memoir Life Undercover: Coming of Age in the CIA. The series is a provocative and contemporary look at a young woman's journey in the CIA, told through the prism of her closest relationships.

Megan Martin (Animal Kingdom) is in final discussions to write the script and serve as showrunner. She will executive produce with Larson, Michael Ellenberg, Lynette Howell Taylor and Samantha Housman. Dani Goren is a co-executive producer, while Fox will serve as a producer and consultant. Media Res and 51 Entertainment will produce.

The drama marks Larson's return to television after previously starring for one season in The WB's Raising Dad and three seasons in Showtime's United States of Tara. She won an Academy Award for her lead role in the 2015 film Room.
