British Drama 'Vigil' Starring Suranne Jones Receives Premiere Date on Peacock

Peacock has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original British drama series Vigil starring Suranne Jones (Doctor Foster, Gentleman Jack).

All 6 episodes of the series will be available on Thursday, December 23.

When a crew member is found dead on board the Trident nuclear submarine HMS Vigil, police in Scotland are called in to investigate. The catch? The UK's nuclear deterrent must remain unbroken, so the submarine stays on patrol and Detective Chief Inspector Amy Silva (Jones) must go aboard to begin an investigation. Although the death was written off as an accidental overdose, Amy suspects foul play. But when the crew close ranks in the face of Amy's questioning, a new threat overshadows her inquiry.

In addition to Jones, the drama stars Rose Leslie, Shaun Evans, Martin Compston, Paterson Joseph, Adam James, Connor Swindells, Gary Lewis, Lolita Chakrabarti, Anjli Mohindra, Daniel Portman, Lorne Macfadyen, Stephen Dillane and Lauren Lyle.

Tom Edge created the drama. He executive produces with Simon Heath, Jake Lushington, Gaynor Holmes and director James Strong. World Productions produces.

The drama aired on BBC One in the United Kingdom earlier this year.
