'The Good Wife' Review - 3.08 Death Row Tip

Hey everyone! I just finished watching this week's new episode of The Good Wife and decided to review it quickly otherwise I'll forget like the past two weeks.
In this episode, Alicia tries to win a stay of execution for a guilty man because he has information that could keep another one of her clients from a murder conviction. Meanwhile, Eli races to get ahead of a client's potential scandal.

The episode started with Cary and new ASA Dana discovering a body after being tipped off by a death row inmate. I have to say that I really enjoyed the increased focus on the States' Attorney's office in this episode. The episodes that are told through their perspective have always been extra intriguing to me. But, this episode showed it through a different lens and I thought it was equally as fascinating. The dynamic between Kalinda and Dana was great to see. There was definitely a connection between the two and both were keen on it and used it to get the information they wanted. It also proved that Kalinda would go to anyone in the States' Attorney's Office for more information and not just Cary. The kiss between Cary and Kalinda at the end was a great way to cap of their story. However, I was a bit confused as to why Cary would walk away in that situation. He has definitely evolved since the last time and I'm eager to see where the two of them go next.
This episode was also hard on Alicia as she saw her own daughter in the case of the death row inmate which in turn made it difficult for her to work on his appeal and to talk to him. This dynamic is something that I have been waiting to see on this program because having children does change your perspective on things. The series usually is great with the cases where the firm is racing against the clock but this episode just lacked that sense of urgency. I also found it difficult to feel sympathy for anyone involved in the case-of-the-week.
Alas what would be a new episode without the always hectic management of Eli Gold. This week he tries to help a candidate by having him come clean on a rather hilarious scandal that resulted from a picture of him ten years ago on spring break. We all knew that when Eli asked if there were any more pictures like this out there that there would be but of course the candidate denied it. I just love how blunt Eli is at times but I hope that soon he gets back to work on his attempt on fixing Alicia and Peter.
To end this review, I enjoyed the interactions between Zach and Eli's daughter and thought that Jackie snooping through Alicia's things was totally in character.
