TV NEWS - 'NCIS,' 'American Horror Story,' 'The Gates,' 'Dallas,' 'Blue Bloods,' 'How I Met Your Mother,' 'The Gabriels,' 'Mom,' 'True Detective' & 'The Originals'

Friday, February 1 - Today, CBS has renewed Tuesday mega-hit NCIS for a 11th season after finalizing a new two-year contract with leading man Mark Harmon. The rest of the cast has already signed on for another season except Cote de Pablo who is in the middle of negotiations to return.

Ryan Murphy has confirmed on Twitter that season two standout Lily Rabe will return for the upcoming third installment of FX's American Horror Story.

Greg Germann (Ally McBeal) has been tapped to replace Aasif Mandvi on NBC's comedy pilot The Gates. The producers of the series made the change after the first table read. Germann's role is as a super-driven, competitive Yale-educated lawyer who pushes his kids way too hard. Additionally Ben and Kate co-star Echo Kellum will replace Justin Chon as a guest star in the pilot. He will play a young "manny" who's seen it all and serves as a buddy/confidant to Mark (Ken Marino).

Lee Majors (Six Million Dollar Man) will appear in at least two episodes of TNT's Dallas. He will play Ken Richard, an ex-boyfriend of Sue Ellen's (Linda Grey) who crosses her path yet again - only this time it's for business.

Sheetal Sheth (Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World) will guest on the February 15 episode of CBS' Blue Bloods. She will play a Turkish musician who pulls Frank (Tom Selleck) into a dicey international conflict.

Kyle MacLachlan will be reprising his season six recurring character on the February 18 episode of CBS' How I Met Your Mother. He plays The Captain, ex-husband of Zoey (Jennifer Morrison), who contacts Ted out of the blue - and naturally stresses him out.

Rob Riggle (NTSF: SD: SUV) is set to topline the FOX comedy pilot The Gabriels from Andrew Gurland and Justin Hurwitz. The project centers on a Midwest family that Riggle will play the patriarch of.

Blake Garrett Rosenthal (New Girl) will play Anna Faris' eight-year-old son, Roscoe, on the CBS comedy pilot, Mom.

Kevin Dunn has been tapped for a major recurring role on HBO's upcoming eight-episode drama series True Detective. The drama centers on two detectives, Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson), whose lives collide and entwine during a 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. The investigation of a bizarre murder in 1995 is framed and interlaced with testimony from the detectives in 2012, when the case is reopened. Dunn will play Rust and Martin's boss, the fair but tough 3rd Squad Homicide Commander Major Ken Quesada.

Daniella Pineda (Fitzgerald Family Christmas) has landed a series regular role on The CW back-door pilot The Originals. She will play Sophie, a witch whose magic has been silenced but not snuffed. A leader and a sexy, sharp-tongued social force, she is quietly sowing the seeds of a revolution amongst her peers.
