TV News - 'Awkward,' 'Hot in Cleveland,' 'Blink,' 'Westside,' 'Spy,' 'Turn,' 'Wild Blue,' 'The Sixth Gun' & 'Influence'

        Monday, March 18 - The third season of MTV's teen comedy series Awkward will premiere on Tuesday, April 16 at 10/9c with two back-to-back episodes. Additionally, MTV.com will be hosting Awkward webisodes that tie into the on-air storylines of the show, with the first webisode available before the premiere and subsequent installments to follow throughout the season.

Jean Smart will guest star on an upcoming summer episode of TV Land's Hot in Cleveland as the sister of Victoria (Wendie Malick).

Elizabeth Marvel has been cast on The CW drama pilot Blink from Vera Herbett. She will play Helen Trask, comatose Greg's (John Benjamin Hickey) wife and a strong-willed psychotherapist whose life and marriage were abruptly disrupted by her husband's accident.

Brooklyn Sudano (My Wife and Kids) has joined the cast of the ABC drama pilot Westside starring Odette Annable and Luke Bracey. She will play Jess, Chris' (Bracey) girlfriend who has been waiting six years to be reunited with him after he is released from prison, only to learn that he is now seeing the daughter (Annable) of his family's chief rival.

Ben and Kate star Nat Faxon will guest star on the ABC comedy pilot Spy starring Rob Corddry and Paget Brewster. He will play Alan, the new boyfriend of Tim's (Corddry) ex-wife (Brewster) who desperately wants to be friends with Tim and also happens to be the principal at Marcus' (Mason Cook) elementary school. The role is listed as a guest star for the pilot with an option to become a series regular should the project move to series.

Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Angus Macfadyen (Chuck) have been added to the cast of the AMC drama pilot Turn. McNally will play Richard Woodhull, the local magistrate and Abe's (Jamie Bell) well-respected father. A loyalist whose allegiance is to the King, we may wonder if he is trying to stay on the side he believes will win as opposed to the side he truly believes in. Macfadyen will play Robert Rogers, a feared and admired war hero who fought alongside George Washington in the French and Indian war but has fallen from grace following a return to England where he has gambled away his fortune and lapsed into alcoholism.

Gina Rodriguez (The Bold and the Beautiful) is set as the female lead on the FOX drama pilot Wild Blue from Taylor Elmore and Graham Yost. She will play Pilar "Maytag" Robles, an overachiever seemingly born to be a Naval open aviator. She's athletic and graceful but by no means a pushover who is smart, driven and unafraid to fight for what she believes is right and fair.

Elena Satine (Magic City) has landed the last main role on the NBC drama pilot The Sixth Gun from Ryan Condal and Carlton Cuse. She will play the "widow" Missy Hume, a powerful Madame who runs the town of Brimstone kept unnaturally youthful by being in possession of the Fifth Gun. A cold stunningly beautiful woman of great cunning, she is unafraid to use whatever means to collect all Six Guns for her own dark purposes.

Wynn Everett (The Newsroom) has been cast on the ABC drama pilot Influence from Kyle Killen and starring Steve Zahn and Christian Slater. She will play Claire, Ross' (Slater) ex-wife who is hired by Clark (Zahn) to be the new office manager.
