TV News - 'Mixology,' 'Sense8,' 'Burn Notice,' 'True Blood,' 'Necessary Roughness,' 'Jacked Up,' 'Holding Patterns,' 'The Selection' & 'Divorce: A Love Story'

        Wednesday, March 27 - The Following star Adan Canto has booked a guest spot on the ABC comedy Mixology with an option to become a regular if it's ordered to series. He will play Dominic, the sexy bartender presiding over the Manhattan hotspot that serves as the main setting of the project.

Netflix has announced a 10-episode pickup for Sense8, a sci-fi drama from Andy and Lana Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski. The series will debut in late 2014 and tell the global story of "minds linked and souls hunted."

Adrian Pasdar (Heroes, The Lying Game, Political Animals) has landed a major recurring role on the upcoming seventh season of USA's Burn Notice. He will play Randall Burke, a savvy, dangerous and unpredictable former special ops soldier who is now suspected of running a freelance terrorist ring. A charismatic wild card, he oozes danger and courage. If you're on his good side, he'll show you the time of your life. If you're on his bad side, he'll probably want to kill you.

Brothers & Sisters alum Luke Grimes has been tapped for a recurring role on the upcoming sixth season of HBO's True Blood. He will play James, a circa '70s-made vampire who is smart, spiritual and emotionally deeper than any other vampire out there.

Karissa Lee Staples has joined the cast of USA's Necessary Roughness as a new series regular for the upcoming third season. She will play Paloma, Dr. Dani's (Callie Thorne) stunning, energetic and ambitious assistant who is transitioning from sorority president to high-powered businesswoman and is determined to help Dani run her practice whether she wants the help or not.

Rob Huebel (Children's Hospital) will co-star on the CBS comedy pilot Jacked Up from Greg Malins and starring Patrick Warburton. He will play Barry, Jack's (Warburton) energetic and lovable best friend who is divorced owner of the local sports bar. Additionally, Huebel will appear in a guest starring/potential recurring role on the ABC comedy pilot Bad Management.

Comedian Griffin Newman has landed a leading role on the untitled NBC comedy pilot created by and starring John Mulaney. He will play Seymour, John's (Mulaney) roommate who is a weird genius in the body of a dustbowl child.

The Office vet Oscar Nuñez has joined the cast of the NBC comedy pilot Holding Patterns. He will play Mickey, an urbane NY lit agent representing Chad Kirk (Nelson Franklin), a womanizing book author and one of a group of friends whose lives completely change after they survive a plane crash.

Melanie Liburd has booked a guest starring/potentially recurring role on The CW drama pilot The Selection. She will play Fiona Castley, who family is overjoyed but she is secretly hesitant about being picked for The Selection.

Southland star Regina King has been cast on the ABC comedy pilot Divorce: A Love Story from Mike Sikowitz and Daniel Lappin. She will play Cassandra, the diva dental hygienist, mercurial wife of Ike (Adam Goldberg). Her casting on the potential series is formally in second position to TNT's Southland.

Private Practice vet Paul Adelstein has joined the cast of the untitled CBS comedy pilot from Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky and starring Debra Messing. He will play Bryan, Gabby's (Messing) husband, a good-natured Google employee who loves his wife and family but doesn't quite get how much of a burden his wife is carrying.
