TV News - 'Holding Patterns,' 'Girlfriend in a Coma,' 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Two and a Half Men,' 'True Blood,' 'The Killing,' 'The Surgeon General,' 'Brenda Forever' & 'The Good Wife'

        Friday, March 29 - Erinn Hayes (Guys with Kids) has replaced Chyler Leigh as the female lead on the NBC comedy pilot Holding Patterns. The project focuses on a group of friends whose lives completely change after they survive a plane crash caused by Leah (Hayes) ruining Griffin's (Humphrey Ker) proposal dinner. Her casting on the potential series is in second position to NBC's Guys with Kids.

NBC and series creator Liz Brixius have mutually agreed to postpone the production on the Girlfriend in a Coma comedy pilot to off-cycle. The decision comes 10 days after series lead Christina Ricci exited the project. Filming is tentatively scheduled to begin in June. Miranda Cosgrove, Daniel Stern and Ann Cusack co-star on the project.

White Collar and One Tree Hill alum Hilarie Burton has booked a recurring role on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. She will play a craniofacial specialist who visits Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to work on a case. She will first appear in the 22nd episode set to air in May.

Marilu Henner (Taxi) will appear in the May 9 season finale of CBS' Two and a Half Men. She will play a grandmother of a young woman Walden (Ashton Kutcher) is dating - but Walden starts falling for her instead.

The ten-episode sixth season of HBO's True Blood will premiere on June 16 at 9/8c.

AMC has announced that The Killing will launch its ten-episode third season with a special two-hour premiere on Sunday, June 2 at 8/7c.

Anna Deavere Smith, Paul McCrane and Miguel Sandoval have booked guest starring/potentially recurring roles on the CBS drama pilot The Surgeon General. Smith will play the Vice President. McCrane will play the President's Chief of Staff. Sandoval will play Senator Nortega.

Mandalynn Carlson and Lindsay Kraft have rounded out the cast for the NBC comedy pilot Brenda Forever starring Ellie Kemper. Carlson will play the 13-year-old version of lead character Brenda (Kemper) who is chubby, awkward but incredibly confidant. Kraft will play will play the recurring role of Jenny, Neil's (David Krumholtz) fiancee.

After lengthy negotiations, Tony winner Matthew Broderick has signed on to topline the untitled CBS multi-camera comedy pilot from Tad Quill. He will play Jack, a recently widowed father who raises his 12-year-old son while jumping back into the dating pool.

Martha Plimpton and Denis O'Hare are set to reprise their fan-favorite recurring roles on the April 28 fourth season finale of CBS' The Good Wife. O'Hare plays the honorable Judge Abernathy and Plimpton plays the cunning rival attorney Patti Nyholm - a role for which she won the Emmy for Best Guest Actress in a Drama Series for last season's finale.
