TV News - 'Growing Up Fisher,' 'The Good Wife,' 'A.D.: Beyond the Bible,' 'Switched at Birth,' 'Under the Dome' & 'Revolution'

Monday, July 1 - Jenna Elfman (1600 Penn) has officially signed on to replace Parker Posey on NBC's new midseason comedy series Growing Up Fisher. The series centers on a son (Eli Baker) who idolizes his blind father (J.K. Simmons) and enjoys his mom's (Elfman) newfound adolescence after his folks divorce and, ultimately, grow closer.

Outsourced vet Ben Rappaport has booked a recurring role on the upcoming fifth season of CBS' The Good Wife. He will play Carey, one of the fourth-year attorneys at Lockhart Gardner who decides to branch off with Alicia (Julianna Margulies) and Cary (Matt Czuchry).

NBC has landed Mark Burnett and Roma Downey's sequel series to The Bible, this spring's enormously popular 10-part miniseries that aired on History. The follow up - A.D.: Beyond the Bible (working title) - begins in the dark days after Jesus' betrayal and death. A perfect storm brews in the Holy Land, fueled by social injustice, Roman military oppression and religious unrest. High priests and the Herod dynasty vie for power. Zealot revolutionaries turn to violence to regain what they believe is their promised land. And in the face of terrible odds and brutal persecution, the small band of Jesus' disciples stand against the combined might of Rome and their own local authorities. In a generation of rebellion, war, famine and carnage, who can they trust? Who should they fear? Will tomorrow bring a violent death? For many, it does... but others survive, and as the storm around them breaks, the fate of Israel, of Rome and of their faith is decided.

Joey Lauren Adams (Dazed and Confused) will guest on the August 5 and August 12 episodes of ABC Family's Switched at Birth. She will appear as Nikki's (Cassi Thomson) mother.

Two-time Emmy winner Mare Winningham will appear in a late August episode of CBS' summer hit Under the Dome. She will play Agatha, a deceptively warm caretaker who welcomes Big Jim (Dean Norris) into the Chester's Mill home she's looking after. It soon quickly becomes apparent that her intentions are anything but pure.

Patrick Heusinger (Royal Pains, Gossip Girl) has been tapped for a recurring role on the upcoming second season of NBC's Revolution. He will play Adam, a physically fit handsome/roguish man who's cool, has a good sense of humor and lives life to its fullest.
