CBS Gives Series Order to 'Battle Creek' from the Dynamic Team of Vince Gilligan & David Shore

Today, CBS has bypassed the tradition pilot stage of development and instead given a full series commitment to Battle Creek - a detective drama series from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and House creator David Shore.

Battle Creek centers on two detectives with very different world views who are teamed up. They must answer the question: is cynicism, guile and deception enough to clean up the semi-mean streets of Battle Creek, Michigan in the face of a complete lack of resources; or is the exact opposite true - it takes naïveté, trust and a boatload of resources?

Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Studios will co-produce the drama. Gilligan, Shore and Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad) will are serve as executive producer. Shore will be the main showrunner with Gilligan showing more of interest in directing the project.

CBS has given the drama a 13-episode blind commitment. It will debut early in the 2014-2015 season.
