NBC's Saturday Night Live has tapped Cecily Strong to be the new co-anchor of Weekend Update alongside Seth Meyers. She will join the news desk in the September 28 premiere. The sketch comedy series has also confirmed that comedians Beck Bennett, Kyle Mooney, Noël Wells, John Milhiser, Mike O'Brien and Brooks Wheelan have joined the cast.

James Tupper (Grey's Anatomy, Revenge) is joining the cast of ABC's new midseason drama Resurrection for a multi-episode arc. He will play Dr. Eric Ward, who has a past with Maggie (Devin Kelley).

Orange Is the New Black star Danielle Brooks will appear on an upcoming episode of HBO's Girls. No details were revealed about her character.

Powers Boothe and Robert Ray Wisdom will not retain series regular status for the upcoming second season of ABC's Nashville. Both actors will continue to appear on the series on a recurring basis.

Additionally, Conan host Conan O'Brien will appear as himself on the October 2 episode of ABC's Nashville.

Christian Serratos (Twilight) has been cast on the fourth season of AMC's The Walking Dead. She will play the tough, beautiful and mysterious Rosita Espinosa. She will recur on the fourth season with an option to become a series regular for season five.

Punk icon Iggy Pop has joined the cast of ABC's new drama series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. He will lend his voice to the series as The Caterpillar. He replaces The Who frontman Roger Daltrey, who voiced the insect in previous appearances but was unavailable to reprise the role in the new series.

Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook) and Ashley Tisdale will appear on an episode of ABC's new comedy Super Fun Night. Weaver will play Pamela Boubier, Kimmie's (Rebel Wilson) overbearing mother while Tisdale will play Kimmie's newly engaged sister and a former Broadway showgirl.

Showtime has released the pilot episode of its new drama series Masters of Sex starring Michael Sheen & Lizzy Caplan online ahead of its September 29 premiere.

Melissa Claire Egan (The Young and the Restless) will guest star on CBS' new comedy We Are Men. She will play a resident at the apartment complex who Stuart (Jerry O'Connell) tries to impress.
