TV News - Jeri Ryan Returns to Science Fiction with Role on 'Helix'; 'Girls' Casts Hannah's Grandmother; Plus 7 More Updates!

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks will guest star on a November episode of CBS' CSI. She will play teacher who somehow ended up in the midst of a bloody hotel crime scene.

Jeri Ryan (Star Trek: Voyager, Body of Proof) will recur on Syfy's upcoming drama series Helix. She will play Constance Sutton, the beautiful and charismatic Chief Operating Officer of Ilaria Corporation, the owner of Arctic Biosystems, the research facility where the series takes place.

June Squibb (The Young and the Restless) will appear on the third season of HBO's Girls as Hannah's (Lena Dunham) grandmother.

Amir Arison (Homeland, Girls) has landed a recurring role on NBC's The Blacklist. He will play FBI tech specialist Aram Mojtabi, who is an enthusiastic, hardworking agent desperate to assimilate.

Bess Armstrong (House of Lies) has been added to the cast of CBS' new drama series Reckless in the recurring role of Roy's (Cam Gigandet) mother, Melinda.

Ryan Kelley has booked an arc on the second half of MTV's Teen Wolf's third season. He will play Deputy Sheriff Perish, the newest member of the Beacon Hills Sheriff's Department eager to assist Sheriff Stilinski (Linden Ashby) in uncovering the mysterious supernatural occurrences that plague the town.

NBC has acquired the U.S. broadcast rights to Welcome to Sweden, a half-hour comedy series from Amy Poehler and her brother Greg Poehler, which was originally commissioned by Sweden's TV4 as the network's first ever English-speaking series. Filmed in Sweden, New York and Los Angeles, Welcome to Sweden is a fish-out-of-water comedy created by Greg Poehler based on his true life story. It is about a New York accountant, Bruce (Poehler), who falls in love with a Swedish girl, Emma (Josephine Bornebusch) and follows his heart to Sweden. Lena Olin co-stars as Emma's mother Viveka and Illeana Douglas and Patrick Duffy play Bruce's parents. Making cameo appearances are Amy Poehler, Will Ferrell, Aubrey Plaza and Gene Simmons.

Annie Wersching (24, Dallas, Body of Proof, Revolution, Touch) will guest star on an upcoming episode of ABC's Castle. She will play Dr. Kelly Niernan, an elite cosmetic surgeon who draws the interest of the NYPD detectives because of her connection to a murder victim.

Tom Cavanagh (Ed) and Jennifer Irwin (Eastbound & Down) will appear in the seventh episode of ABC's The Goldbergs. They will play Charles and Virginia Kemp, the Goldbergs' prim and proper neighbors who are the polar opposites of Murray (Jeff Garlin) and Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey).
