TV News - Syfy Sets January Premieres for 'Being Human,' 'Lost Girl' & 'Helix'; 'Nikita' Reunion on '12 Monkeys' Pilot; Plus 13 More Updates!

Syfy will kick off 2014 with the series premiere of new drama series Helix on Friday, January 10 at 10/9c. with a two episode premiere. The following Monday - January 13 - will premiere new seasons of Lost Girl (at 8/7c.), Being Human (at 9/8c.) and Canadian acquisition Bitten (at 10/9c.)

Marley Shelton (Eleventh Hour) has been cast in the leading role on the Lifetime drama pilot The Lottery from Timothy J. Sexton. She will play Dr. Alison Scott, the brilliant fertility specialist whose breakthrough in fertilizing 100 viable eggs may have life-and-death consequences she could not have anticipated.

Noah Bean has joined the cast of the Syfy drama pilot 12 Monkeys starring fellow Nikita co-star Aaron Stanford. Additionally, Zeljko Ivanek will guest star on the pilot. Bean will play Aaron Marker, a political strategist whose relationship with Cassandra (Amanda Schull) is torn apart by Cole's (Stanford) appearance and the conspiracy to end the world. Ivanek will play Leland Frost, a brilliant venture capitalist and philanthropist behind cutting-edge biological research with a ruthless drive that may bring mankind to extinction.

Elizabeth Rohn and J.R. Ramirez have been added to the cast of Starz's upcoming drama series Power. Rohm will play Cynthia, who works for Vogue magazine and is working with Ghost (Omari Hardwick) and his club to host a blowout party for her boss. Ramirez will play Julio, second in command to Tommy (Joseph Sikora). Additionally, executive producer Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson will recur on the first season as Kanan, an old friends of Ghost's.

Rachel Blanchard (Flight of the Conchords) will recur on FX's miniseries Fargo. She will play Kitty Nygaard, Lester's (Martin Freeman) sister-in-law.

Greek alum Andrew J. West has joined the cast of AMC's The Walking Dead as a recurring guest star. He will play Gareth, a character who doesn't appear in the long-running comic book series but will be a remix of another unidentified character. He will guest on the second half of the drama's fourth season with an option to become a series regular in the fifth season.

CBS' The Good Wife is adding another alum from NBC's Smash for an upcoming episode. After featuring Christian Borle in two episodes this fall, the CBS drama has cast his Smash co-star Jack Davenport for an early 2014 episode. He will play an upstanding assistant U.S. attorney.

Jessica Szohr (Gossip Girl), Beth Riesgraf (Leverage), Demetrius Grosse (Banshee) and Lauren Stamile (Grey's Anatomy) have been cast on the USA drama pilot Complications starring Jason O'Mara. Szhor will play Gretchen, a pretty and whip-smart ER nurse with a dark soul. Riesgraf wil play Samantha, John's (O'Mara) wife, a lawyer who's trying to keep everything together after losing their daughter to cancer. Grosse will Dan Brennan, a fellow doctor and John's closest friend. Stamile will play Bridget, a doctor constantly at odds with how John empathizes too much with his patients.

Aasif Mandvi (The Daily Show with Jon Stewart) has joined the cast of the HBO comedy pilot The Brink starring Jack Black and Tim Robbins. He will play Rafiq Massoud, a young Pakistani employed by the U.S. embassy whose love of America runs as deep as his resentment.

Katherine LaNasa (Deception) will co-star on the untitled USA drama pilot from Sean Jablonski and starring Matt Passmore. She will play Adriana, a sophisticated middle-aged woman whose beauty is only matched by her intelligence. She is an entrepreneur who services an elite clientele of women looking for temporary romance.

  • FOX (1) -- Untitled Sameer Gardeezi & Trevor Noah Project (script), a comedy based on the life and comedy of Trevor Noah.
  • Cinemax (1) -- Blanco (pilot ordered), a drama moving into production after securing Shiloh Fernandez and Juan Carlos Fresnadillo as lead actor and director respecitvely.
