TV News - 'NCIS' Makes Ziva Successor a Regular; 'Alpha House,' 'Betas' & 'Helix' Get Premiere Dates; Plus 8 More Updates!

Aaron Stanford (Nikita) and Amanda Schull (Suits) have been cast on the Syfy drama pilot 12 Monkeys. Stanford will play Cole, a desperate and haunted time traveler from the post-apocalyptic near future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague. Schull will play Cassandra Railly, a brilliant doctor who is forced to choose between her idyllic life or joining Cole's mission to uncover the dangerous conspiracy. Additionally, Natalie Chaidez (In Plain Sight) and Jeffrey Reiner (Helix) have signed on as showrunner and director respectively.

Emily Wickersham previously joined the cast of CBS' NCIS as a guest star for a three-episode arc. Now, she is being made a full-time series regular - ahead of her Nov. 19 debut on the series. She plays NSA Analyst Eleanor "Ellie" Bishop, a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism who specializes in international threat assessment and global preparation.

This morning, Amazon announced that it will be launching its first two new comedies - Alpha House and Betas - on November 15 and November 22, respectively. The first three of each series' 11 episodes will be available on that premiere date to all Amazon customers for free. After that, one episode of each show will become available weekly on Amazon's subscription service Prime Instant Video.

Syfy's new drama series Helix starring Billy Campbell and Hiroyuki Sanada will premiere on Friday, January 10 at 10/9c.

NBC's Community has booked Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan for a guest-starring appearance. In his acting debut, he will play a smooth-talking gold digger who somehow winds up in the middle of a fight between Abed (Danny Pudi) and Annie (Alison Brie).

And speaking of Breaking Bad, Emmy-winning co-star Anna Gunn is heading to FOX's The Mindy Project for the 13th episode of its second season. She will play Sheila Hamilton, Mindy's (Mindy Kaling) idol who is looking to poach Mindy from her current practice.

Jacinda Barrett (Suits, Zero Hour) is joining FOX's The Following in a recurring role. She will play Julia, a very disarming and alluring woman whose mysterious intentions send several characters in a frightening new direction.

Laura Ramsey, Craig Horner and Sarah Goldberg have been cast on the VH1 drama pilot Hindsight from Emily Fox. Ramsey will play Becca, who before her second wedding to Andy wakes up 15 years in the past and must decide if she wants to live her life differently. Horner will play Sean, Becca's first husband. Goldberg will play Lolly, Becca's best friend who she had a falling out with several years prior.

Michael Graziadel, Lesley-Ann Brandt and Louise Lombard are the first to be cast on the Lifetime drama pilot The Lottery from Timothy J. Sexton. Graziadel will play Kyle, a recovering alcoholic and single father of one of the last children born in the country. Brandt will play Casey, a U.S. soldier longing for a child who jumps at the shot at being a surrogate by participating in the lottery. Lombard will play Tori, a formerly free-spirited artist who is now a member of the Washington power elite, an accomplished writer and spinmeister who has the ear of the president.

Lifetime's drama pilot Deliverance Creek has added Wes Ramsey and Christopher Baker to its cast. Ramsey will play Nate Cooper, Deputy of Deliverance, Missouri and one of the few men left behind to uphold the law during the Civil War. Baker will play Cyril Balfour, a soulless, sadistic and scarred renegade.

Also joining a Lifetime pilot are Megyn Price, Bryan Batt, Nathalie Kelley and Johanna Braddy who have joined the Shiri Appleby-starring Unreal project. Price will play Julia, an executive producer who is all about making provocative TV. Batt will guest as Charles, a field producer who fails to find any viable "talent" for the series. Kelley will play Grace, a swimwear designer/model competing on the unscripted series who immediately wins the heart of bachelor Adam (Freddie Stroma). Braddy will play Anna, an attorney and another contestant with something just a bit off about her.
