Comedy Central Orders 'Big Time in Hollywood, FL' & 'Moonbeam City' to Series

Comedy Central has greenlit 10 episodes of scripted comedy Big Time in Hollywood, FL, from Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf, and animated comedy Moonbeam City, whose voice cast is led by Rob Lowe. The pickups were announced by Kent Alterman, President, Content Development and Original Programming, Comedy Central.

Produced by Red Hour and Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Big Time in Hollywood, FL is executive produced and written by Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf, along with Red Hour's Ben Stiller, Debbie Liebling, Stuart Cornfeld and Mike Rosenstein, and Brillstein Entertainment Partners' Lee Kernis and Brian Stern. Anfanger will also star in the series, along with Lenny Jacobson, Kathy Baker, Stephen Tobolowsky and Jon Bass. Schimpf directed the pilot.

Big Time in Hollywood, FL follows two delusional brothers and self-proclaimed filmmakers (Anfanger & Jacobson), who are kicked out of their parents' (Baker, Tobolowsky) house and forced to fend for themselves for the first time in their lives, leading them on an epic journey in pursuit of their American dream.

Created and executive produced by Scott Gairdner, executive produced by Olive Bridge Entertainment's Will Gluck and Richard Schwartz and produced by Rob Lowe, Moonbeam City will premiere in 2015 and features an all-star lineup of voice talent led by Lowe, Elizabeth Banks, Will Forte and Kate Mara.

Moonbeam City is an absurdist take on the gritty, sex-drenched crime dramas from the 1980s. The series follows undercover detective Dazzle Novak (Lowe), a handsome idiot who commits more crimes than most criminals. His tyrannical chief, Pizzaz Miller (Banks), won't get off his back, and hotshot rookie Rad Cunningham (Forte) is dying to see him fail. With the world against him, Dazzle is thrust into a living nightmare: having to do actual police work.
