Development News - 'The Money Pit' Remake Gets NBC Pilot Order; 'The Flash' Adds 'The Vampire Diaries' Vet; Plus 7 More Updates!

ABC's Agatha, The Astronaut Wives Club, Untitled Richard LaGravenese & Warriors; CBS' The McCarthys; The CW's The Flash; and NBC's Fifth Wheel, The Money Pit & Tin Man.




CBS' THE McCARTHYS
  • After signing a new overall deal at Sony Pictures Television, writer Mike Sikowitz has joined the multi-camera comedy pilot as executive producer/showrunner. Sikowitz previously served as showrunner on CBS' long-running comedy Rules of Engagement.
THE CW's THE FLASH
  • The potential spinoff series of The CW's successful drama Arrow has added Rick Gosnett (The Vampire Diaries) and Danielle Panabaker (Shark) to its cast. Cosnett will play Detective Eddie Thawne, a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret. Panabaker will play Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligence bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during the explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs.
NBC's TIN MAN
  • Kathleen York (The Client List) and Kristen Connolly (House of Cards) have been cast in series regular roles on the futuristic thriller drama pilot. York will play Wendy, the idealized version of the perfect spouse to come home to. Connolly will play Katie Piper, a public defender forced to fight for Adam's (Patrick Heusinger) cause.
NBC's THE MONEY PIT
  • Pilot Ordered - Comedy (Multi-Camera)
  • Inspired by the 1986 film starring Tom Hanks and Shelley Long, the comedy centers on a couple who are tricked into buying a distress-sale mansion that becomes the proverbial "money pit" requiring an endless string of repairs. Justin Spirtzer (The Office) wrote the pilot and will executive produce with Amblin Television's Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank. Universal Television will produce the pilot
NBC's FIFTH WHEEL
  • Pilot Ordered - Comedy (Multi-Camera)
  • From ABC Studios and The Mark Gordon Company, Fifth Wheel is a 20-something ensemble show about a girl learning to deal with being the only single person in her group of friends. The pilot was written on spec by Heidi Niedermeyer and Elena Crevello, who will serve as supervising producers on the project. Mark Gordon and Andrea Shay will executive produce.
ABC's THE ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB
  • Pilot Ordered - Drama
  • Based on Lily Koppel's best selling novel, The Astronaut Wives Club is set in the 1960s and tells the real story of the women who stood beside some of the biggest heroes in American history during the height of the space race. The pilot was written by Stephanie Savage, who executive produces through her Fake Empire company with partner Josh Schwartz. Len Goldstein and Groundswell Production's Michael London will also executive produce. ABC Studios will produce.
ABC's UNTITLED RICHARD LAGRAVENESE PROJECT
  • Pilot Ordered - Drama
  • Set in New York, the project revolves around the love and rivalry between two equally matched, powerful socialites who play out their obsessive attraction and seduction of each other through their manipulation of others. Emmy winner Richard LaGravenese will pen the pilot script - as well as executive produce with Erwin Stoff, Ilene Staple and Wren Arthur. ABC Studios will also produce.
ABC's AGATHA
  • Pilot Ordered - Drama
  • Agatha - also from ABC Studios and The Mark Gordon Company - is a character-driven procedural about a former convict turned big city criminologist who is brought in to help local police crack a case involving a perplexing disappearance. The chief detective she's been hired to help is her father - and they haven't talked in fifteen years. Tom Donaghy wrote the script and will executive produce with Mark Gordon, Nick Pepper and Michael McDonald.
ABC's WARRIORS
  • Pilot Ordered - Drama
  • Warriors follows the best and brightest of active duty military doctors and nurses as they practice trailblazing medicine on critically wounded warriors returning home from Afghanistan, on military families and veterans, as well as administering to Washington's government elite. The pilot script was penned by Chris Keyser. Executive producers on the project from ABC Studios and Mandeville Television are Keyser, Laurie Zaks, Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman.
