TV News - John Hawkes & Michael Cera Join FX Comedy Pilot; 'Revenge' Ups Karine Vanasse to Regular; Plus 7 More Updates!

Zach Cregger (Guys with Kids) has landed the leading role on the FOX comedy pilot Fatrick from Nahnatchka Khan. He will play Patrick, a formerly fat kid who is compelled to face the damage caused by years of being "Fatrick."

John Hawkes (Deadwood) and Michael Cera (Arrested Development) have signed on to star in the FX comedy pilot How and Why from Charlie Kaufman. Hawkes will play Goodman Hesselman, host of the How & Why show at the center of the series who loses his passion for the show, gets replaced by a younger host and relocates to a different town to start a similar show with significantly less stature. Cera will play Mendelson, Goodman's new boss at the studio.

Malcolm in the Middle alum Jane Kaczmarek has joined USA's upcoming comedy series Playing House in a multi-episode arc. She will play Gwen, Emma's (Jessica St. Clair) perfectly coiffed and extremely opinionated mother who finds herself in the midst of a midlife renaissance - writing beat poetry, wearing open-toed sandals and discovering the joys of frozen yogurt.

Ignacio Serricchio (The Young and the Restless) has landed a recurring role on FOX's Bones. He will play the Jeffersonians newest squintern, a very prominent forensic anthropologist from Cuba who comes to the U.S. seeking asylum.

Karine Vanasse is being upped to series regular on ABC's Revenge. She debuted in the third season premiere as Margaux LeMarchal, who grew up with Daniel (Josh Bowman) and is now romancing Jack (Nick Wechsler). She was appeared in practically every episode of the third season so far. The upgrade will officially take effect at the start of the fourth season - which has not been formally picked up by ABC yet.

Anne Dudek (Covert Affairs) and Keith David (Enlisted) will appear on upcoming episodes of NBC's Grimm. Dudek will play Professor Vera Gates, a bright, young archeology professor excited to begin studying a 3,000-year-old sarcophagus. David will play Heidg, the ringmaster for a unique traveling carnival and is willing to do whatever it takes to get his performers to put on the best show possible.

Hilary Duff (Lizzie McGuire) will star on the TV Land comedy pilot Younger opposite Sutton Foster. She will play Kelsey, a smart ambitious 20-something who welcomes Liza (Foster) to the publishing firm, treats her as a contemporary and makes a concerted effort to integrate her into her social life, having no idea that Liza is actually a decade older than she claims.
