Casting News - 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' Books Patton Oswalt; Hal Linden to Appear on '2 Broke Girls'; Plus 6 More Updates!

ABC's Astronaut Wives Club & Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; CBS' 2 Broke Girls & CSI; Hallmark's Cedar Cove; NBC's Chicago Fire & Chicago P.D.; Netflix's Untitled KZK Drama; and WGN America's Manhattan.




CBS' CSI
  • TV veteran Treat Williams (Chicago Fire, Everwood) will guest star on the 14th season finale of the crime drama. He will play Sam, a Sheriff's Deputy back in the late 1980s who demonstrated a knack for invention and an aptitude for forensic science that put him decades ahead of his time.
NETFLIX's UNTITLED KZK DRAMA
  • Sam Shepard (Klondike) has joined the cast of the upcoming drama series starring Kyle Chandler and Sissy Spacek. He will play the patriarch of the family.
ABC's ASTRONAUT WIVES CLUB
  • Dexter alum Desmond Harrington has landed a regular role on the upcoming summer drama. He will play real-life astronaut Alan Shepherd, one of the Mercury 7 astronauts and the first American in space. Despite a playboy reputation, he and his wife will be married for 53 years.
NBC's CHICAGO FIRE & CHICAGO P.D.
  • The Mentalist star Amanda Righetti is pulling double duty by appearing on both Chicago-set series during a late April crossover event. She will appear as a pediatrician.
WGN AMERICA's MANHATTAN
  • David Harbour (The Newsroom, Rake) will recur on the upcoming drama series' first season. He will play Reed Akley, the golden boy at Los Alamos and the leader of the staff of 600 scientists.
ABC's MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • Popular comedian Patton Oswalt (The Goldbergs) will guest star on an upcoming episode of the drama. He will appear as Agent Eric Koenig. Nothing has been released on how he will shake things on the show but in the comics Koenig was a part of Nick Fury's original team of World War II soldiers.
CBS' 2 BROKE GIRLS
  • Hal Linden (Barney Miller) has landed a guest spot on an upcoming episode of the comedy. He will play Lester, the man whose name is actually on the lease for Max' (Kat Dennings) rent-controlled Brooklyn apartment. Max and Caroline (Beth Behrs) will need to track him down and appear for his help or risking losing the place. His episode is scheduled to air on April 21.
HALLMARK's CEDAR COVE
  • The Andie MacDowell-Dylan Neal starring drama series will return for its second season on Sunday, July 20 at 8/7c. Production on the new season is set to begin in Vancouver, British Columbia on March 31.
