Bravo Gives Straight-to-Series Order to Comedy 'Odd Mom Out'

Bravo is continuing its push into original scripted programming. During its upfront presentation tonight, the cable network announced the green light of Odd Mom Out, an original half-hour comedy series starring author/fashionista Jill Kargman.

Odd Mom Out is based on Kargman's life and captures the outrageous world of uber-wealthy "momzillas" of New York's Upper East Side. Kargman will play a version of herself negating a world that has become so elite, hip and trendy that she's now the odd mom out.

"When incredibly talented author and New York socialite Jill Kargman stomped her way into our offices we knew we had found Bravo's very own Lena Dunham or Louis C.K.," said Lara Spotts, Senior Vice President, Development, Bravo. "Jill's unique ability to satirize the very exclusive, ridiculously competitive and highly entertaining world of Manhattan's momzillas makes Odd Mom Out the perfect series to expand Bravo's slate of scripted programming."

Kargman, Ken Druckerman, Banks Tarver, Tim Piper and Daniel Rosenberg serve as executive producers. Left/Right and Piro Vision will produce the series.

A premiere time frame and exact episode count were not made immediately available.
