Casting News - Samuel L. Jackson Returns to 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D'; Shirley MacLaine Joins 'Glee'; Plus 5 More Updates!

ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; BBC America's Doctor Who; FOX's Glee; NBC's Law & Order: SVU; Netflix's Marco Polo; Starz's Power; and TNT's Rizzoli & Isles.




TNT's RIZZOLI & ISLES
  • Dollhouse vet Enver Gjokaj will appear in at least three episodes of the drama's upcoming fifth season. He will play Jack Keystone, a charming Boston University professor who enters the lives of Jane (Angie Harmon) and Maura (Sasha Alexander) while Maura is preparing to give a lecture for her new seminar.
NETFLIX's MARCO POLO
  • Italian actor Lorenzo Richelmy has been tapped for the lead role on the upcoming drama series. The series, which has just begun production in Venice, has also assembled an international cast including Benedict Wong (Prometheus), Zhu Zhu (Cloud Atlas), Tom Wu (Skyfall) Remy Hii (Treading Water) and Rick Yune (Olympus Has Fallen).
NBC's LAW & ORDER: SVU
  • Under the Dome vet Samantha Mathis will guest star on a May episode of the long-running procedural. She will play the ex-wife of a producer who accuses him of molesting their 8-year-old daughter while trying to win a nasty custody battle.
BBC AMERICA's DOCTOR WHO
  • Comedian and real-life physics expert Ben Miller will appear on the upcoming season of the drama. According to showrunner Steven Moffat, he will play a "storming villain."
ABC's MARVEL's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • After appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Samuel L. Jackson will reprise his role of S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury on the drama's first season finale - airing on May 13.
STARZ's POWER
  • Starz will debut its newest original drama series on Saturday, June 7 at 9/8c. The drama centers on James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), the owner of an up-and-coming new nightclub in New York with plans to build an empire who also happens to be a drug kingpin.
FOX's GLEE
  • Oscar winner Shirley MacLaine (Downton Abbey) is set to appear in multiple episodes of the musical dramedy. She will play a powerful New York socialite intent on turning Blaine (Darren Criss) into a superstar.
