A full month before the second season drops on the streaming service, Netflix has ordered a third season of 13 episodes of its critical darling Orange Is the New Black.
From Lionsgate Television and based on the memoir by Piper Kerman, Orange Is the New Black stars Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon as ex lovers who reunite behind bars following their decade-old personal and business relationship.
Jenji Kohan (Weeds) created the prison dramedy, with Schilling, Prepon, Michael J. Harney, Jason Biggs, Kate Mulgrew, Taryn Manning, Uzo Aduba and Danielle Brooks set as series regulars for the second season.
Netflix doesn't release any kind of numbers for their original programming, but it's been reported that Orange Is the New Black has been their most popular series so far.
