Casting News - Dermot Mulroney Joins 'Shameless'; Cote de Pablo Returns to CBS for 'The Dovekeepers'; Plus 9 More Updates!

CBS' The Dovekeepers; The CW's The 100 & The Vampire Diaries; FOX's Backstrom & Bones; FX's Tyrant; NBC's Grimm & The Mysteries of Laura; Netflix's Daredevil; OWN's If Loving You Is Wrong; and Showtime's Shameless.



FOX's BONES
  • John Boyd (24, The Carrie Diaries) has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming tenth season. He will play James Aubrey, a junior FBI agent working under Booth (David Boreanaz) who views everything as a stepping stone to something much better.
FX's TYRANT
  • Leslie Hope (24, The Strain) will appear in the final three episodes of the drama's first season as a character called Lea Exley. All other character details are being kept under wraps.
THE CW's THE 100
  • Raymond J. Barry (Justified) has been tapped for a recurring role on the second season of the drama. He will play Dante Wallace, a passionate painter and leader.
NBC's GRIMM
  • Orange Is the New Black star Elizabeth Rodriguez is joining the supernatural drama for a multi-episode arc. She will play Special Agent Chavez, one of the FBI agents assigned to investigate the recent murder of Weston Steward (C. Thomas Howell) who also has more insight than anyone could possibly have guessed.
FOX's BACKSTROM
  • Robert Forster (Breaking Bad, Last Man Standing) has been tapped to play Backstrom's (Rainn Wilson) father on at least two episodes of the midseason drama. Forster's Sheriff Blue Backstrom is a local legend in the town but Backstrom remembers the man as the abusive father from his youth.
NETFLIX's DAREDEVIL
  • Peter Shinkoda (Falling Skies) has joined the cast of the upcoming drama series in a major recurring role. He will play a character named Hachiro. No other character details were immediately released.
CBS' THE DOVEKEEPERS
  • NCIS alum Cote de Pablo is returning to CBS with a starring role on the upcoming four-hour miniseries from Mark Burnett and Roma Downey. De Pablo will play Shirah, one of the four women at the center of the series. She is sensual, mysterious and fiercely independent single mother with uncanny insights and a quiet and mysterious power. She covertly practices forbidden ancient rites of magic and is keenly knowledgeable about herbal remedies. However, those in need don't hesitate to approach her for her help and generosity of spirit.
OWN's IF LOVING YOU IS WRONG
  • The cable network will launch its latest Tyler Perry-produced drama on Tuesday, September 9 with two back-to-back, one-hour episodes starting at 9/8c.
THE CW's THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
  • Emily C. Chang (Days of Our Lives) has booked a recurring role on the drama's upcoming sixth season. She will play Ivy, the quintessential girl next door with an unexpected wild side. She will debut in the Oct. 2 premiere.
NBC's THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA
  • A month after NBC set its premiere dates for this fall, the network is making one significant change. The Mysteries of Laura - original set to debut on Wednesday, September 24 - will now debut on Wednesday, September 17 at 10/9c. following the season finale of America's Got Talent.
SHOWTIME's SHAMELESS
  • Dermot Mulroney (Crisis, Enlightened) is joining the dramedy for a major season-long arc for its fifth season. He will play ex-bad boy and recovering addict Sean Pierce, Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) new manager at Patsy's Pies. As their relationship turns flirtatious and their tension grows, they won't be able to overcome their weakness for each other.
