Casting News - 'The Walking Dead' Season 5 Premiere Date Set; 'Game of Thrones' Casts 9 Characters; Plus 1 More Update!

AMC's THE WALKING DEAD
  • The hit drama series will return for its fifth on Sunday, October 12 at 9/8c., it was announced today by executive producer Scott Gimple during the series' panel at San Diego Comic Con.
NBC's THE SLAP
  • Peter Sarsgaard (The Killing) and Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds) have been cast in the lead roles of the 8-hour miniseries. Sarsgaard will play Hector, a husband and father who loves his wife and family but shows signs of weakness when he finds himself succumbing to the advances of his wife's teenaged receptionist during his own party. Parker will play Anouk, a close friend of Hector's who's the head writer on a TV show and is now dating the younger leading man.
HBO's GAME OF THRONES
  • The list of actors joining the hit drama's fifth season include: Alexander Siddig as Doran Mertell, the ruling lord of Dorne and older brother to the late Prince Oberyn Martell; Toby Sebastian as Trystane Martell, Prince Doran's son and heir to Dorne; Nell Tiger Free as Myrcella Baratheon, the eldest child of Cersei Lannister and the late King Robert Baratheon who is betrothed to Trystane; DeObia Oparei as Areo Hotah, the long-serving captain of Doran's palace guard; Enzo Cilenti as Yezzan, an extremely wealthy slave trader before Daenerys Targaryen outlawed the slave trade; Jessica Henwick as Nymeria "Nym" Sand, the second eldest of Prince Oberyn's bastard daughters; Rosabell Laurenti Sellers as Tyene Sand, Oberyn's daughter by Ellaria Sand, his final paramour; Keisha Castle-Hughes as Obara Sand, a fearsome warrior and the eldest bastard daughter of Oberyn; and Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow; a devout and pious man who came to King's Landing to serve those forgotten by much of the world - the poor, the downtrodden and the infirm.
