ABC Family Renews 'Switched at Birth' for Season 4

ABC Family has renewed its hit original drama series Switched at Birth for a fourth season. The third season finale airs on Monday, August 18 - with a special Christmas-themed episode set to air in December. The new season will likely debut in early 2015.

"Fans will be clamoring for season four and to know what happens with Daphne and Bay after the season three finale next week," said Tom Ascheim, President, ABC Family.

The critically-acclaimed series tells the story of two teenage girls who discover they were accidentally switched as newborns in the hospital. Despite overwhelming socio-economic and ethnic differences, both families must learn to co-exist as parents and blend their lives into one for the sake of their daughters.

Switched at Birth is executive produced by Lizzy Weiss and Paul Stupin. The series stars Katie Leclerc, Vanessa Marano, Constance Marie, D.W. Moffett, Lea Thompson, Lucas Grabell and Sean Berdy, with special guest star Marlee Matlin.
