Casting News - Chris Pratt to Host 'Saturday Night Live'; 'Nurse Jackie's 7th Season to be Its Last; Plus 3 More Updates!

ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. & Modern Family; NBC's About a Boy & Saturday Night Live; and Showtime's Nurse Jackie.





ABC's MODERN FAMILY
  • Kristen Johnston (The Exes, Third Rock From the Sun) will guest star on an upcoming episode of the hit comedy. She will play a co-worker of Mitchell's (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) who offers her a place to stay for a night because she is going through a tough time. However, Mitch has no idea the extent to which she is unraveling emotionally.
NBC's ABOUT A BOY
  • Chris Diamantopoulos (Episodes) will appear in at least two episodes of the comedy's upcoming second season. He will play Mr. Chris, Marcus' (Benjamin Stockham) charismatic, larger-than-life new English teacher who immediately has sparks with Fiona (Minnie Driver) and tension with Will (David Walton).
NBC's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
  • Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt will kick off the 40th season of the late night sketch comedy as host for the September 27 season premiere. He will be joined by musical guest Ariana Grande. The following week - October 4 - Sarah Silverman will serve as host with musical guest Maroon 5.
ABC's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • Kenneth Choi and Neal McDonough will both reprise their roles from the first Captain America film alongside the previously announced Hayley Atwell on the second season premiere of the hit drama. They play Jim Morita and Timothy "Dum Dum" Dugan respectively. It's currently unclear if either will also have a presence on midseason drama Agent Carter centered around Atwell's character during the same time period - although it should be noted Choi is also starring on the NBC midseason drama Allegiance.
SHOWTIME's NURSE JACKIE
  • Showtime announced today that the upcoming seventh season of the dramedy starring Edie Falco will be the series' final season. The final episodes are scheduled to air in Spring 2015.
