Casting News - Mena Suvari Books Lead Role on 'South of Hell'; Hunter Parrish Joins 'The Following'; Plus 4 More Updates!

FOX's Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Following & New Girl; NBC's Saturday Night Live; WE tv's South of Hell; and Yahoo Screen's Other Space.





NBC's SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE
  • Chris Rock - who appeared on the late night sketch comedy from 1990 to 1993 - will return as host for the November 1 episode, with musical guest Prince.
FOX's THE FOLLOWING
  • Hunter Parrish (Weeds, The Good Wife) and Ruth Kearney (Tyrant) will appear on the upcoming third season of the hit drama. They will play Kyle and Daisy, a couple who aren't afraid to go to extreme lengths to keep the spark alive in their relationship.
FOX's BROOKLYN NINE-NINE
  • Singer-actor-host Nick Cannon has landed a recurring role on the comedy's current second season. He will play Marcus, Holt's (Andre Braugher) nephew who is handsome educated and charming and moves to New York and crashes at his uncle's for a little bit.
WE TV's SOUTH OF HELL
  • Mena Suvari (American Beauty) has landed the lead role on the cable network's second original scripted drama. She will play Maria Abascal, a stunning demon-hunter-for-hire whose power stems from within. Like those she hunts, Maria is divided within herself, struggling with her own demon, Abigail, who resides inside of her, feeding on the evil Maria exorcises from others. Maria and Abigail share a soul and a destiny, but as Maria desperately tries to overtake Abigail, she will discover how far Abigail will go to remain a part of her.
FOX's NEW GIRL
  • Greta Lee (Girls, Wayward Pines) has booked a recurring role on the comedy's fourth season. She will play Kai, the daughter of Tran (Ralph Ahn) and a possible new love interest for Nick (Jake Johnson).
YAHOO SCREEN's OTHER SPACE
  • Mystery Science Theater 3000 alums Joel Hodgson and Trace Beaulieu have joined the cast of the upcoming comedy. Rounding out the cast today are Karan Soni, Eugene Cordero, Milana Vayntrub, Neil Casey and Conor Leslie.
