USA has decided the fates of its two freshman summer dramas - opting to renew Satisfaction for a second season while canceling Rush. The renewal for Satisfaction is for 10 episodes which will likely debut in Summer 2015.
Created by Sean Jablonski, Satisfaction focuses on a married couple (Matt Passmore, Stephanie Szotak) as they explore the ideas of marriage and infidelity. The cast also includes Katherine LaNasa, Blair Redford, Michelle DeShon and Deanna Russo.
"Satisfaction sparked a cultural conversation about modern love and marriage in today's world," said USA Network President Chris McCumber.
Neither summer series did well in the ratings - with both opening to 1.7 million total viewers and 0.5 Adults 18-49 rating for Satisfaction and 0.4 for Rush in July. Both were consistent at this level for the rest of their 10 week runs.
Factoring in USA's decision to renew Satisfaction was the show's Live+7 lifts: +74% in P18-49 and +58% in total viewers. Both were slightly highly than Rush's gains. Also helping is the fact that Satisfaction comes from in-house production company Universal Cable Productions while Rush comes from the outside Fox 21.
The network still hasn't made any renewal or cancellation decisions for summer dramas Royal Pains and Graceland as well as comedy Playing House.
