AMC today announced that hit drama Hell on Wheels will be returning for a fifth and final season of 14 episodes. As the network likes to do lately, the final season will be split over two years - with seven episodes airing next summer and the final seven following in the summer of 2016.

Enormous thanks to the terrific writers, cast and crew for all they have achieved and for all that lies ahead in the Wild West."

In its Saturday night time slot, the current  fourth season is delivering an average of 3.4 total million viewers, 1.3 million in the Adults 25-54 demographic and 965,000 in Adults 18-49. All numbers are Live+3 data.

The drama stars Anson Mount, Colm Meaney, Phil Burke, Christopher Heyerdahl, Robin McLeavy, Kasha Kropinski, Dohn Norwood, Jennifer Ferrin, Chelah Horsdal, MacKenzie Porter, Tayden Marks and Jake Weber.
