HBO Gives Series Order to Drama 'Westworld' Starring Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden & Ed Harris

Inspired by the 1973 film of the same name written and directed by Michael Crichton, HBO has given a series order to drama Westworld which features a very A-list cast.






Set at an amusement park with lifelike robots, Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.

The cast includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Miranda Otto, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrif Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan and Simon Quarterman.

The pilot was written by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, with Nolan also serving as director. Additional executive producers include J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub and Bryan Burk. Kathy Lingg serves as co-executive producer, with Athena Wickham as producer and Susie Ekins as co-producer.

Warner Bros. Television will produce in association with Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions and Kilter Films.
