After lengthy negotiations with Warner Horizon Television, TNT has officially ordered a sixth season of hit drama Rizzoli & Isles starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. Season 5 will continue on February 17, 2015. Season 6 will then debut in Summer 2015.
The episode order for Season 6 has been increased to 18 episodes - the largest tally for a season of Rizzoli & Isles yet.
Based on characters created by best-selling crime novelist Tess Gerritsen and developed for television by Janet Tamaro, Rizzoli & Isles stars Harmon as Jane Rizzoli, a tough-as-nails Boston police detective, and Alexander as Maura Isles, a smart, impeccably dressed medical examiner from a privileged background. Despite being complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemisty, an authentic and deep friendship and a unique working relationship that together, helps them to solve the most complex murder mysteries in the city of Boston.
Jordan Bridges, Bruce McGill, Idara Victor and Lorraine Bracco also star.
