Casting News - 3XK Killer Returning to 'Castle'; Steven R. McQueen Leaving 'The Vampire Diaries' as Regular; Plus 2 More Updates!

Casting News - January 12, 2015

ABC's Castle; The CW's The Vampire Diaries; MTV's Finding Carter; and Syfy's Childhood's End.

THE CW's THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
  • Steven R. McQueen will be exiting the veteran drama as a series regular after the fourteenth episode of the current sixth season. The decision was made for creative reasons, as executive producer Julie Plec says "It's time for Jeremy [McQueen] to go out and live his life. He's growing up and moving on. He will be out living a real life." However, there's a strong possibility he will make guest appearances on the show after his departure.
ABC's CASTLE
  • Michael Mosley will reprise his role as Jerry Tyson aka the 3XK killer in the drama's annual February sweeps two-part episode event.
MTV's FINDING CARTER
  • The 12-episode second season of the hit drama will debut on Tuesday, March 31 at 10/9c.
SYFY's CHILDHOOD'S END
  • Colm Meaney (Hell on Wheels) and Charlotte Nicdao (Please Like Me) have been cast on the upcoming miniseries starring Mike Vogel and Charles Dance. Meaney will play Wainwright, the powerful, confident owner of a major news organization. Nicdao will play Rachel Osaka, a brilliant and energetic zoologist.
