- John Travolta will return to TV for his first series role since 1975's Welcome Back, Kotter with a co-starring role on the upcoming anthology series. He will play Robert Shapiro, a crucial part of O.J. Simpson's (Cuba Gooding Jr.) defense team. Travolta will also serve as a producer on the series.
MTV's SHANNARA
- Ivana Baquero (Pan's Labyrinth) has been cast opposite Poppy Drayton and Austin Butler on the upcoming drama. She will play Eretria, a young woman from the wrong side of the tracks who's been forced to use her beauty and wits to survive. She's a human who has been raised in a den of thieves known as the Rovers. When she rescues Wil (Butler) from danger, she becomes unwittingly tied to his and Amberle's (Drayton) quest to save the Four Lands.
NBC's ABOUT A BOY
- The network has trimmed the episode order for the second season of the comedy created by Jason Katims - from 22 to 20. The move likely comes from recent low ratings (with the episode airing last night, Jan. 6, hitting a new series low).
ABC's MODERN FAMILY
- Elizabeth Banks and Nathan Lane are set to reprise their roles as Sal and Pepper on an upcoming episode of the comedy's sixth season. In the episode, Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) set out to throw a belated baby shower for Sal with the help of party planner Pepper.
WGN AMERICA's OUTSIDERS
- Joe Anderson (The River) and David Morse (Treme) have joined the cast of the upcoming drama series. Anderson will play Asa, a man who bridges the mountain and the "outside" world who sees his job as saving his people with huge, symbolic importance. Morse will play Big Foster, a weathered man with a brutal and grandiose primitive power who is hot-blooded and reactive.
TV LAND's HOT IN CLEVELAND
- Music icon Gladys Knight will guest star on an upcoming episode of the veteran comedy's final season. She will play a psychic named Miss Shonda.
NBC's CHICAGO P.D.
- Enlisted vet Angelique Cabral will appear on an upcoming episode of the drama's second season. She will play a detective who worked vice with Antonio (Jon Seda) years ago and pops up again to help the Intelligence Unit with a case. The two shared a mutual attraction in the past and those feelings may still be lingering.
CBS' HAWAII FIVE-0
- Jon Lovitz (Saturday Night Live) has booked a guest spot on an upcoming episode of the drama's fifth season. He will play Barry, who fences high-end stolen goods and finds himself having to work with the police when his client turns murderous.
THE CW's THE FLASH
- Spartacus alum Liam McIntyre has been tapped to play Mark Mardon, aka the Weather Wizard, in the fifteenth episode of the drama's first season. In the episode, Mark returns to Central City to get justice for his brother Clyde Mardon's (Chad Rook) untimely death and uses his powers to go on a rampage and find the man who shot Clyde: Detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin).
THE CW's JANE THE VIRGIN
- Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman) has been cast in a recurring role on the dramedy's first season. She will play Amanda, the leader of a romance writer's group that Jane (Gina Rodriguez) joins.
FX's JUSTIFIED
- Kingdom star Jonathan Tucker will appear in the final five episodes of the drama's sixth and final season. He will play Boom, a hired gun of Katherine Hale's (Mary Steenburgen) ex-lover, Avery Markham (Sam Elliott). He is a quick draw gunslinger with a romantic view of himself as a man out of a different time.
FX's THE STRAIN
- Max Charles (The Neighbors, Northpole) has been tapped to replace Ben Hyland in the series regular role of Zach Goodweather in the drama's upcoming second season. Showrunner Carlton Cuse explained: "We recast this part due to some specific story needs we have downstream."
HULU's DEADBEAT
- Zachary Levi (Chuck, Thor 2) will play President Abraham Lincoln in an upcoming episode of the supernatural comedy's second season. In the episode, Pac (Tyler Labine) stages a "revival" of Our American Cousin so that the back-from-the-dead former president can see the ending that he missed.
