Netflix Orders Will Arnett-Starring Comedy 'Flaked'

Netflix has given an eight-episode series order to comedy Flaked created by Will Arnett and Mark Chappell, with Arnett also playing the lead role. The comedy is expected to debut on the streaming service in 2016.

Set in the insular world of Venice, California, Flaked centers on a self-appointed "guru," Chip (Arnett) who falls for the object of his best friend's fascination. Soon the tangled web of half-truths and semi-bullshit that underpins his all-important image and sobriety begins to unravel.

Co-creators Arnett and Chappell will executive produce, alongside Ben Silverman, Peter Principato and Mitch Hurwitz. Electus and Principato-Young will produce.

Flaked will be Arnett's third series for Netflix, following the fourth season revival of Arrested Development and animated comedy Bojack Horseman

"We are thrilled to be the home of Will Arnett's next series, and look forward to Chip joining his repertoire alongside such diverse and inspiration characters such as Gob, Bojack and Batman," said Cindy Holland, Vice President of Original Content, Netflix.

Arnett added, "We're very excited to partner with Netflix - the home of original, original content - and the network I knew would be the ideal home for this passion project."
