USA Cancels 'Covert Affairs' After 5 Seasons

USA has opted to cancel the spy drama Covert Affairs starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham after five seasons.

Network sources say the cancellation of the veteran series was a business decision, with the most recent season's Live+Same Day ratings ultimately being just too low. For its fifth season, the serialized drama averaged 1.5 total million viewers - a series low.

The fifth season finale ended on a cliffhanger as Annie (Perabo) was pondering a marriage proposal, a new gig with a CIA task force and Auggie's (Gorham) plan to move away from life in the CIA.

Matt Corman and Chris Ord created the drama. Across five seasons, the cast also included Kari Matchett, Peter Gallagher, Anne Dudek, Sendhill Ramamurthy, Hill Harper and Nic Bishop.
