Cinemax has given an eight-episode series order to drama Quarry, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, President, HBO Programming. Production will begin on March 30 in New Orleans and Tennessee.
Based on the novels of Max Allan Collins, Quarry was created by Graham Gordy and Michael D. Fuller. Greg Yaitanes will serve as director. Executive producers are Gordy, Fuller, Yaitanes, Collins, Steve Golin, Matt DeRoss, David Kanter and Ken Levin.
Quarry tells the story of Mac Conway, a Marine who returns home to Memphis from Vietnam in 1972 and finds himself shunned by those he loves and demonized by the public. As he struggles to cope with his experiences at way, Conway is drawn into a network of killing and corruption that spans the length of the Mississippi River.
The cast includes Logan Marshall-Green, Jodi Balfour, Peter Mullan, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Damon Herriman, Jamie Hector, Edoardo Ballerini and Skipp Sudduth.
"This nuanced and dynamic show marks an exciting moment in the evolution of Cinemax programming," said Lombardo.
Quarry is an HBO Entertainment production in association with Anonymous Content.
