ABC's Chev & Bev & Dr. Ken; CBS' For Justice & Life in Pieces; FOX's Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life, Frankenstein & Studio City; NBC's Chicago Med & Strange Calls; and Showtime's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.




NBC's CHICAGO MED
  • Whitney star Yaya DaCosta has been cast in a lead role on the proposed spinoff of Chicago Fire - which will be introduced in Episode 19 of the drama's third season. She will play Maggie Seaver, an attractive nurse who begins dating Severide (Taylor Kinney), with whom she has a history dating back to high school.
FOX's FRANKENSTEIN
  • Adhir Kalyan (Rules of Engagement) has joined the cast of the drama pilot written by Rand Ravich. He will play Otto Goodwin, one of Ray's creators, a quiet and brilliant Internet billionaire who, with his bioengineer twin sister, took on the challenge of reanimating a dead man.
FOX's COOPER BARRETT'S GUIDE TO SURVIVING LIFE
  • Being Human star Meaghan Rath is set as the female lead on the comedy pilot written by Jay Lacopo. She will play Kelly Bishop, a beautiful physical therapist who lives across the hall from Cooper.
FOX's STUDIO CITY
  • Sanaa Hamri has been tapped to direct the drama pilot written by Krista Vernoff and produced by John Wells. She most recently directed a handful of episodes for FOX's Empire, Showtime's Shameless and CBS' Elementary.
ABC's CHEV & BEV
  • Ben Taylor will direct the pilot for the single camera comedy reuniting Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo. The British director's credits include episodes of Cuckoo, Spy, Catastrophe and Cockroaches.
SHOWTIME's CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND
  • The premium cable network has opted to pass on the single camera comedy pilot written by and starring Rachel Bloom. The pilot was co-written by Aline Brosh McKenna and directed by Marc Webb. Bloom starred as a woman who gives up her partnership at a Manhattan law firm in an effort to find happiness in the Los Angeles suburb of West Covina. The cast also included Santino Fontana, Michael McDonald, Donna Lynne Champlin and Vincent Rodriguez III.
ABC's DR. KEN
  • ABC has given a pilot order to multi-camera comedy Dr. Ken starring Community's Ken Jeong. Written by Jared Stern, Mike O'Connell and Jeong, the project stars Jeong as a frustrated HMO doctor juggling medicine, marriage and parenting, and succeeding at none of them. Stern, Mike Sikowitz, John David and John Fox will executive produce. O'Connell and Jeong are co-executive producers. Sony Pictures Television, ABC Studios and Davis Entertainment will produce.
CBS' LIFE IN PIECES
  • Jason Winer has signed on to direct and executive produce the comedy pilot written by Justin Adler, which has already cast Fargo's Colin Hanks in a lead role.
NBC's STRANGE CALLS
  • Jason Winer has also been tapped to direct and executive produce the comedy pilot written by Blake McCormick. He most recently directed the pilots for ABC's Modern Family and CBS' The Crazy Ones.
CBS' FOR JUSTICE
  • Selma director Ava DuVernay has signed on to direct and executive produce the drama pilot written by Rene Balcer.
