Development News - Marcia Gay Harden to Co-Star on 'Code Black'; Skylar Astin Books Co-Lead on NBA Pilot; Plus 1 More Update!

Development News - February 17, 2015

ABC's Untitled NBA; CBS' Code Black; and FOX's Grandpa.

FOX's GRANDPA
  • Drake & Josh star Josh Peck has been cast opposite John Stamos on the comedy pilot (formerly untitled). He will play Jimmy's (Stamos) son who he didn't knew he had - a sweet unemployed techie who is himself the proud and surprisingly capable father of a two-year-old daughter, the product of a one-night stand with Vanessa.
CBS' CODE BLACK
  • Marcia Gay Harden (Trophy Wife, How to Get Away With Murder) will co-star on the drama pilot written by Michael Seitzman. She will play Christa, a former soccer mom whose son died of cancer. She is now a newly minted, talented and dedicated doctor whose experience handling her son's disease, coupled with her intuition and life experience, makes her see things that often escape her much younger fellow residents.
ABC's UNTITLED NBA PROJECT
  • Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect, Ground Floor) has been cast as one of the two leads on the comedy pilot written by Casey Johnson and David Windsor. He will play Jason, an average-sweet and a little wimpy guy with no athletic prowess who is working as a teaching assistant and living in his parents' basement when he is recruited by the NBA as a translator. A munchkin among giants in the world of professional basketball, Jason soon discovers that he also must be the new player's 24/7 guide, best friend, mentor and protector, and he also has to find a way to light a fire under this incredibly tall and talented athlete who seems to lack drive.
