USA Orders 10 Episodes of Drama 'Colony' Starring Josh Holloway & Sarah Wayne Callies

USA has ordered 10 episodes of drama Colony starring Josh Holloway and Sarah Wayne Callies, it was announced today by Chris McCumber, President, USA. Colony is a co-production between Legendary Television and Universal Cable Productions. Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal created the drama.

Set in the near future, Colony takes place in Los Angeles, which exists in a state of occupation by a force of outside intruders. Some people choose to collaborate with the authorities and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences.

Colony marks a Lost reunion between Carlton Cuse and Josh Holloway, who stars as Will Bowman. Will is a former FBI agent who - in a bid to protect his family - is forced to collaborate with the occupational government to bring down the growing resistance movement inside the L.A. colony.

Sarah Wayne Callies returns to TV, following her stint on The Walking Dead, as Katie Bowman, a mother of three who struggles daily to keep her family safe and united in an occupied Los Angeles.

"Carlton and Ryan have created an intriguing ride that uniquely provides a humanistic take," said McCumber. "Josh and Sarah have incredible on-screen chemistry and brilliantly play a couple making tough choices to protect their family in an uncertain world."

The cast also includes Amanda Righetti, Peter Jacobson, Alex Neustaedter and Gonzalo Menendez. Juan José Campanella directed the pilot.

The Colony pickup gives Cuse four series on the air, including Bates Motel and The Returned on A&E and The Strain at FX. He serves as showrunner on all four dramas. He also has pilot Point Of Honor in contention at Amazon for a series pickup.
