ABC's Smoke and Mirrors; CBS' Angel From Hell, Happy Life & Untitled Tommy Johnagin; The CW's Dead People; and NBC's Cuckoo.
NBC's CUCKOO
- Michael Chiklis (The Shield) and Cheryl Hines (Suburgatory) have been cast on the comedy pilot written by Robin French, Kieron Quirke and Tim Long. They will play the heads of the family, Ken and Lori, who struggle with their daughter (Rachel DiPillo) coming home from a summer abroad married to a charming but infuriating eccentric named Cuckoo (Flula Borg).
CBS' HAPPY LIFE
- Minnie Driver is set as the female lead on the comedy pilot starring Steven Weber. She has been cast as a guest star in the pilot in second position to her current gig on NBC's About a Boy, which has a slim chance at renewal. She will play Maggie, a former doctor who left behind that grind to embark on a new career teaching people "mindful meditation" out of her home studio.
CBS' UNTITLED TOMMY JOHNAGIN PROJECT
- Kevin Nealon (Weeds) and Jane Kaczmarek (Malcolm in the Middle) will co-star on the comedy starring Tommy Johnagin. Nealon will play Jack, Tommy's (Johnagin) dad, a charming but manipulative loose cannon who flirts with every woman and says everything with a smile - but has a self-destructive streak. Kaczmarek will play Linda, Tommy's responsible mother who owns a local diner, still treats her adult children like babies and always holds her ex-husband in absolute contempt for the past 17 years.

- One Tree Hill alum Bethany Joy Lenz has joined the cast of the drama pilot starring Mireille Enos and Damon Dayoub. She will play Zoe, Kieran's (Dayoub) wife who passes as his sister in their cons. She loves her husband and their lifestyle. And yet, she's starting to sense that he is slipping away from her.
CBS' ANGEL FROM HELL
- Maggie Lawson (Psych, Back in the Game) is set as the co-lead opposite Jane Lynch on the comedy pilot written by Tad Quill. In the pilot, an unlikely friendship forms when the larger-than-life, brassy and flamboyant Amy (Lynch) enters Allison's (Lawson) life and claims to be her guardian life, and Allison can't be sure if Amy is an angel of just nuts. Allison, a multi-tasker and perfectionist, is inclined to believe that Amy is just another nut case, except that every last one of Amy's pronouncements comes true.
THE CW's DEAD PEOPLE
- Jaime Lee Kirchner (Mercy, The Mob Doctor) has been cast as the female lead opposite Andrew J. West on the drama pilot. She will play Charly, a tough, talented, no-nonsense cop who's seen it all - but is unprepared for Floyd (West), who talks to the dead. Though she thinks he's a nut case at first, she soon realizes he's telling the truth and decides that he could prove to be very helpful with her police work.
