Development News - Chris Daughtry to Write Music for 'Studio City'; James Lesure Joins 'Uncle Buck'; Plus 3 More Updates!

ABC's Uncle Buck; CBS' Supergirl; FOX's Studio City; HBO's Untitled Sarah Silverman; and NBC's Heart Matters.





FOX's STUDIO CITY
  • American Idol alum Chris Daughtry has joined the drama pilot written by Krista Vernoff in a recurring role. He will play Keith Rhodes, a drug-addicted rock star. The singer will also write original music for the prospective series.
ABC's UNCLE BUCK
  • James Lesure (Men at Work) will co-star on the comedy pilot starring Mike Epps. He will play Will, Buck's (Epps) younger but more accomplished brother. A reasonable and patient father, Will is a successful architect who is willing to do anything to make his wife Alexis (Nia Long) happy. He accepts Buck for his faults, but knows he has a good heart.
NBC's HEART MATTERS
  • J. Louis Mills has landed a regular role on the drama pilot starring Melissa George. He will play Dr. Forrester, who was left with a nasty scar and one arm following his tour in Iraq.
CBS' SUPERGIRL
  • Owain Yeoman (The Mentalist, Turn) will guest star on the drama pilot as the DC Comics character Vartox. In the pilot, Vartox is an alien convict who has been hiding on Earth for 12 years. After Supergirl's (Melissa Benoist) emergence as a public hero, he seeks her out to ascertain her identity and do battle with her.
HBO's UNTITLED SARAH SILVERMAN PROJECT
  • Weeds alum Justin Kirk will co-star on the untitled comedy pilot starring Sarah Silverman. He will play Stacy, Jude's (Silverman) paranoid, charismatic and occasionally antagonistic boss at the video game company.
