Casting News - 'The Bastard Executioner' Adds Ed Sheeran; Freida Pinto to Appear on 'The Mindy Project'; Plus 12 More Updates!

ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.; ABC Family's Recovery Road & Stitchers; Comedy Central's Nathan For You & TripTank; The CW's The Originals; FX's The Bastard Executioner; Hulu's 11/22/63 & The Mindy Project; NBC's Chicago Fire, The Mysteries of Laura & Truth Be Told; Netflix's Fuller House; Showtime's The Affair; and WGN America's Underground.

SHOWTIME's THE AFFAIR
  • Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She will play Luisa, a new love interest for Cole (Joshua Jackson), an independent and spirited woman who illegally emigrated from Ecuador as a child and is now working her way through school.
NBC's THE MYSTERIES OF LAURA
  • Callie Thorne (Rescue Me, Necessary Roughness) has landed a recurring role on the drama's upcoming second season. She will play Captain Nancy Santiani, the new boss at the 2nd Precinct who runs a tight ship and frequently clashes with Laura (Debra Messing).
FX's THE BASTARD EXECUTIONER
  • Grammy nominee Ed Sheeran has signed on to appear in a recurring role on the upcoming drama's first season. He will play Sir Cormac, an ambitious and deadly protégé of a high-ranking church elder.
WGN AMERICA's UNDERGROUND
  • One Tree Hill alum James Lafferty has joined the upcoming drama in a recurring role. He will play Kyle Risdin, a U.S. marshal who is intent on enforcing the Fugitive Slave Act.
HULU's THE MINDY PROJECT
  • Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) will guest star in the comedy's upcoming fourth season premiere - which will be set in an alternate reality. She will play a version of herself who Danny (Chris Messina) has started dating.
  • Additionally, Raising Hope alum Garret Dillahunt has just signed on for a major recurring role on the upcoming season. He will play Jody, a new doctor who replaces Mindy (Mindy Kaling) while she goes on maternity leave. He is a charming southern gentleman with extremely traditional values who thinks that Mindy is a tacky idiot.
COMEDY CENTRAL's NATHAN FOR YOU and TRIPTANK
  • The cable network has announced premiere dates for two fall shows. TripTank will return for its second season on Wednesday, September 23 at 11/10c. and the third season of Nathan For You will debut on Thursday, October 13 at 10/9c.
ABC's AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
  • Andrew Howard (Bates Motel, Agent X) has been cast in a recurring role on the drama's upcoming third season. He will play Banks, an authoritative and intimidating agent.
HULU's 11/22/63
  • Josh Duhamel (Battle Creek) has joined the cast of the upcoming limited event series as a series regular. He will play Frank Dunning, the father of one of Jake's (James Franco) in 1960s Kentucky. He is the rakish town butcher, a ladies' man with an effortless smile that everyone welcomes - except Jake, the only man who knows the full violence Frank is capable of.
NBC's TRUTH BE TOLD
  • The comedy originally known as People Are Talking has been rebranded and its new title will be Truth Be Told. The change was made ahead of the show's October 16 debut. The cast includes Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tone Bell, Bresha Webb and Vanessa Lachey.
ABC FAMILY's RECOVERY ROAD
  • Laura San Giacomo (Just Shoot Me, Saving Grace) will appear on the upcoming drama's first season. She will play Gina, a rebellious artist and AA sponsor who has concerns about a recovering alcoholic she helped years ago.
NETFLIX's FULLER HOUSE
  • CSI: Miami alum Eva LaRue has joined the cast of the upcoming sequel series to Full House. She will play Teri, the new wife of Danny Tanner (Bob Saget).
NBC's CHICAGO FIRE
  • Brian White (Scandal, Mistresses) has been cast in a major recurring role on the drama's upcoming fourth season. He will play Captain Dallas Patterson, the new captain of the squad unit.
THE CW's THE ORIGINALS
  • Andrew Lees (Your Family or Mine) and Rebecca Breeds (Home and Away) have booked recurring roles on the drama's upcoming third season. Lees will play Lucien, a member of Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) sire line who comes to New Orleans with a secret agenda. Breeds will play Aurora, a "life of the party" type of girl who has a dark side and is known for being malevolent, dangerous and extremely violent.
ABC FAMILY's STITCHERS
  • After recurring throughout the first season, Damon Dayoub has been promoted to series regular for the drama's upcoming second season. He plays Quincy Fisher, an LAPD detective brought into the Stitchers program to assist on the various cases.
