Development News - Max Martini and Ryan Kwanten to Play Lead Roles on Amazon Drama Pilot 'Edge'; Plus 3 More Updates!

ABC Family's Stay; Amazon's Edge; Syfy's Incorporated; and TBS' The Group.





AMAZON's EDGE
  • Max Martini (The Unit), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Yvonne Strahovski (24: Live Another Day) and Alicja Bachleda (The Girl Is in Trouble) have been cast on the drama pilot written by Shane Black and Fred Dekker. The drama focuses on Josiah Hedges aka Edge (Martini), who goes on a bloody mission of vengeance when his younger brother is killed by a group of his former Union army comrades, lead by his nemesis, Merritt Harknett (Kwanten). Edge is fearless, intimidating and the meanest-looking man in any room he enters. Harknett is the son of a prominent senator who can seem charming but is actually a psychotic sadist who delights in inflicting pain on others. Strahovski will play Beth, a mysterious Pinkerton detective who's a newcomer to the bloody town of Seward, Kansas. Bachleda will play Pilar, a pregnant woman who is held prisoner by her husband and father-in-law and pleads with Edge to help her escape.
TBS' THE GROUP
  • Wyatt Cenac (The Daily Show) has been tapped to play the lead role on the comedy pilot written by David Jenkins. He will play Wyatt Jones, a curious, accomplished and serious-minded staff journalist in the town of Beacon who finds himself pulled into the fringe world of alien abductees. The ensemble cast will also include Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley), Luka Jones (Up All Night), Tracee Chimo (Black Box), Oscar Nunez (The Office), Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Selfie), Mary Louise Burke (Flesh and Bone) and Ana Gasteyer (Suburgatory).
SYFY's INCORPORATED
  • Julia Ormond (Mad Men) has joined the cast of the drama pilot starring Sean Teale. She will play Elizabeth, Ben's (Teale) mother-in-law, a whip-smart, powerful top executive who enjoys the perks of her job, but is also trapped in a ruthless system that demands results.
ABC FAMILY's STAY
  • Skeet Ulrich (Jericho) and Mia Vallet (Believe) have been cast on the drama pilot written by Spenser Cohen. Ulrich will play Shane Brenner, a recent widower who's mysteriously packed up his family and is moving them across the country. Vallet will play Girl in Gray, a mysterious woman who is seen both in a picture from the past and in the present day.
