TV Land Renews 'The Soul Man' for Fifth and Final Season

TV Land has renewed its original comedy series The Soul Man for a fifth and final season, it was announced today. The new season will include 12 episodes and likely debut in 2016.






The comedy stars Cedric the Entertainer, Niecy Nash, Wesley Jonathan, John Beasley and Jazz Raycole.

Bill Martin and Mike Schiff serve as showrunners, and executive produce with Suzanne Martin, Sean Hayes, Cedric the Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone. TV Land Original Productions and Hazy Mills Productions produces.

"We appreciate the fans and all the love the show has received over the years, and we plan to give the viewers something very special this season," said Keith Cox, Executive Vice President of Development and Original Programming, TV Land.

Originally launched as a Hot in Cleveland spinoff, The Soul Man is one of the few remaining multi-camera sitcoms at TV Land as the network is heading in different programming direction. The Soul Man joins The Exes as the only remaining multi-cam shows on the network.
