TNT Renews 'The Last Ship' for Season 3

TNT has given a third season renewal to original drama series The Last Ship, it was announced this afternoon. The new season will include 13 episodes and debut in Summer 2016.

Based on William Brinkley's novel, The Last Ship follows the exploits of Captain Chandler (Eric Dane) and the crew of the USS Nathan James as they chart a course to exist in a world where there are few remaining survivors to a global pandemic.

The drama also stars Adam Baldwin, Rhona Mitra, Travis Van Winkle, Charles Parnell, Christina Elmore, Marissa Neitling, John Pyper Ferguson and Jocko Sims.

Hank Steinberg and Steven Kane created the series, and executive produce with director Jack Bender, Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. The series is produced by TNT Original Productions and Platinum Dunes.

The renewal comes a month ahead of the drama's September 6 season finale. TNT is also putting every episode of the second season online through VOD and Watch TNT mobile apps the day after their debut.
