ABC has renewed its original summer drama series Mistresses for a fourth season, it was announced today. The primetime soap will likely return in Summer 2016. However, Jennifer Esposito is departing the series after one season, as is Jason George who has found a permanent position at ABC's Grey's Anatomy.
The returning cast for the fourth season will include Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes, Jes Macallan, Brett Tucker and Rob Mayes.
Based on the UK series of the same name, Mistresses is executive produced by Rina Mimoun, KJ Steinberg, Robert Sertner and Douglas Rae. ABC Studios produces.
Mistresses has been a steady performer for ABC over the summer months throughout the last few years. However, the series was hitting record low numbers throughout its most recently. However, it's still able to be renewed because the show cut enough costs moving production from Los Angeles to Vancouver at the start of Season 3.
