Casting News - Michael Madsen Lands Key Role on 'Powers'; 'The Flash' Casts Iris' Mom; Plus 3 More Updates!

The CW's The Flash & Jane the Virgin; PlayStation's Powers; Showtime's Twin Peaks; and USA's Queen of the South.





PLAYSTATION's POWERS
  • Michael Madsen (The Hateful Eight) and Enrico Colantoni (Person of Interest) have joined the cast of the drama's upcoming second season. Madsen will play SuperShock, the ultimate Power for whom the term "superhero" was coined, a perfect physical specimen with an unparalleled presence that catapulted him to global fame. After retiring at the height of his career under mysterious circumstances and disappearing from public view, he emerges for the fist time time in forty years after the death of Retro Girl (Michelle Forbes). Colantoni will play Bailey Brown, a Senator from Montana and a leader in the Anti-Powers legislation. A former Power known as Cobalt Knight, he now abstains from using his abilities to serve his country from the halls of Congress.
USA's QUEEN OF THE SOUTH
  • Peter Gadiot (Matador, Tut) has landed a series regular role on the upcoming drama starring Alice Braga. He will play James Valdez, a newly minted Capo of Camila's (Veronica Falcón) crime organization who has an in-depth and realistic understanding of how the Narco world works. Despite his brutish ability to ferret out punishment to those who cross him, he surprises Teresa (Braga) with his humanistic sense of moral justice, and becomes one of her closest allies upon her arrival in America.
THE CW's JANE THE VIRGIN
  • Adam Rodriguez (CSI: Miami, Empire) has booked a recurring role on the comedy's upcoming second season. He will play Jonathan, Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) very critical writing professor who does not believe in coddling students.
THE CW's THE FLASH
  • Vanessa Williams (Melrose Place) has been cast as Iris' (Candice Patton) mother and Joe's (Jesse L. Martin) wife on the drama's upcoming second season. No other details were immediately released about the character or when she'll debut.
SHOWTIME's TWIN PEAKS
  • Robert Knepper (Prison Break, Public Morals) has joined the cast of the upcoming revival of the hit '90s drama starring Kyle MacLachlan. No details were immediately released about the character he will be playing.
