ABC's Downward Dog; FOX's Urban Cowboy and Showtime's Untitled Lena Waithe Project..





FOX's URBAN COWBOY
  • UnREAL co-star Nathalie Kelley has landed the female lead role opposite Alfonso Herrara on the drama pilot. Also cast on the project today is Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries). Kelley will play Gaby, the gorgeous, feisty, independent minded, bright and resourceful daughter of Marshall (Jim Belushi). Currently studying immigration law in Dallas, recently engaged to an attorney, Gaby returns home to Houston for a a brief time, stunned to learn of her father's failing health and the past taxes owed on the business. In the meantime, sparks begin to fly between Gaby and the hunky Kyle (Herrera). Gort will play Pam, the beautiful daughter of one of Houston's most powerful families who captures Kyle's attention.
SHOWTIME's UNTITLED LENA WAITHE PROJECT
  • Tequan Richmond, Aisha Hinds, Alex Henderson, Sierra McClain, Olivia Dawson and Jason Weaver have been cast on the drama pilot written by Lena Waithe. Richmond will play Emmett, an attractive, young African-American teen who believes his sexual prowess is what defines him as he has fathered three children by three different woman, but his attitude will be challenged when he's forced to raise one. Hinds will play Jada, Emmett's single mother, a strong, smart survivor. Henderson will play Kevin, an adolescent whose childlike innocence collides with his pent up aggression. McClain will play Jerrika, a tightly wound restaurant manager who is trying to pull herself up in the world. Dawson will play the mother of Brandon and Coogie, who has very little love to give to her children. Weaver will play Ronnie, a street corner philosopher and a fixture of the neighborhood.
ABC's DOWNWARD DOG
  • The broadcast network has handed a hefty pilot production order to Downward Dog based on the web series of the same name. Samm Hodges and Michael Killen will write the pilot, and executive produce with Jimmy Miller, Sam Hansen and Kathy Dziubek. ABC Studios, Legendary Television and Animal Media Group will produce. The project centers on a woman and her dog that features a confessional device - for the dog.
