CBS has given a 13-episode series production commitment to a new untitled family comedy starring, written and executive produced by The King of Queens alum Kevin James.
The multi-camera project stars James as a newly retired police officer looking forward to spending more quality time with his wife and three kids only to figure out he faces more challenges at home than he ever did on the streets.
Bruce Helford and Rock Reuben are also on board as writers and executive producers, with Jeff Sussman as just an executive produce. CBS Television Studios and Sony Pictures Television will produce the series.

"He's an incredibly talented star on every screen and every stage, who appeals to a broad audience. We can't wait to start working with Kevin and the amazing comedy talents of Bruce Helford and Rock Reuben on this exciting new project."
The series commitment is for the 2016-17 season. While it's not an official series order, the 13-episode production commitment makes it highly likely that it will be picked up to series.
